This tutorial shows how to make rhythm variations with displacement maps. If you press and hold option-shift on the displacement map icon , the displacement will constrain to vertical allowing for the movement of notes. Working with the red and green channel separately gives a cool stereo effect. You can download some displacement grids HERE
